Ministry of Social DevelopmentStand 21The Ministry of Social Development includes Work & Income, Seniors (paying superannuation) and Student Services (Student Loans), Family and Community Services and the Office of Disability Issues. The former Child Youth and Family is now a separate Ministry called Orangi Tamariki. Through Work & Income the 300,000 working age adults who depend on a welfare benefit are supported. This currently includes 150,000 on the disability-related benefits (either the shorter-term Job Seeker Support or the longer term Supported Living Payment).
